Ruffled Feathers

Date Added to Gaia: May 9, 2007

Started By: Feather Master (profile)

Announcement Thread: Play our official Tsubasa quest and win a free item!

Repeat Limit: Three times

Details:
This is the second sponsor-related quest made available on Gaia. Unfortunately, the conditions the sponsor, Funimation, require the availability of the quest to be restricted to certain areas: United States, the UK, Canada and Australia. Blocks were put into place to prevent people not located in those countries from doing it. A "workaround" was found, but using this to participate in the quest is forbidden and will result in a ban. Not only will you get a ban, but doing this can also land you in legal trouble.

Note: There is a problem with the system that checks your country that is preventing people in the allowed areas from accessing the quest.

Information from mods regarding the country limits:

Raesha wrote:

Gaia's sponsor for the quest has specifically requested that the quest only be completed by people in the four named countries. If you are in another country and complete the quest you risk Gaia getting in legal trouble with the sponsor. Is that something you want to risk? "Workaround" is just another word for glitch exploitation. If you really want the quest item, you can purchase one in the Marketplace or the Exchange.

Hello Mecha-Bloom,

You have stated that you are from one of the countries that cannot participate in the quest, so you should not try to use any method to circumvent the limitation. You must realize that the limitation was placed on Gaia from the sponsor, and Gaia did not do this to limit the participation of their users. Please obtain the quest reward without trying the quest yourself, whether you have a friend in one of the listed countries give you one or you buy one off the marketplace.

Sincerely,

The people who Gaia have done the deal with, Fanimation, only own the rights IN THOSE COUNTRIES. It is ILLEGAL for them to promote Tsubasa in other regions when they don't have the clearance for it. I don't know who does it in those countries, but they'd be pissed off and sue not only Fanimation, but Gaia too.

They're not trying to discriminate. The quest isn't amazingly exciting, and there are various loopholes to access it from the other countries - plus you can buy the item from the marketplace.

Some moderator responses found in a Q&A thread by Mecha-Bloom: Yes, about the quest

Feather Master:

Please, stranger, hear my words! We haven't met before, but I must appeal to you in a matter of great urgency. Sakura, the young princess of a faraway land, has had her memories scattered across the planes of existence. These scattered fragments of her memory have taken the form of feathers, and many of them have landed right here on Gaia! Please, though these problems may seem distant to you, it is of great importance that her memories be restored.

Will you help me find these scattered feathers?

Step 1

Feather Master:

Please, bring me three of each type of feather: three small feathers, three medium feathers, and three large feathers.

You can find them all by scouring the World Map. Return to me when you have found them, and you will be rewarded!

Requirements

Small Glowing Feather Small Glowing Feather x3
Medium Glowing Feather Medium Glowing Feather x3
Large Glowing Feather Large Glowing Feather x3

These items are collected by visiting any area on the World Map. They appear as a white feather icon moving around the page, just like a random event.
You can get another feather in less than a minute after collecting one.

Feather Master:

A thousand thanks, kind stranger! Your help is invaluable in restoring Sakura's memories. As a token of my gratitude, please accept this small gift.

Your Reward:

Mokona Hat
